South Eastern Building Conference

SEBC logo
For any of our members that are planning to attend the SEBC Show/GreenTrends Conference in Orlando at the end of July, there is a discount of $125 from full registration if they have become a new member of our HBA or of the Florida Green Building Coalition in 2008. The cost of joining the FGBC is only $100.00 for small businesses (1-15 employees), and the same for non-profit or government agencies. Individual membership is only $50.00. SO - if you are planning to attend the SEBC show, join the FGBC first, register for the SEBC show before next Friday, and pocket $25 or more! Or spend it on the Charlie Daniel's Band concert! Your membership credentials in the qualifying organization will be checked when you arrive at the show to pick up your badge.

FHBI Expands Roofing Program To Include Commercial Builders
In its continuing pursuit to become the No. 1 source of insurance products and risk management services for the Florida construction industry, Florida Home Builders Insurance, Inc. (FHBI) has expanded eligibility for its roofers program to include commercial as well as residential roofing contractors who are members of the Florida Home Builders Association.
"Obviously, roofers face unique risks, but through our program, we have outstanding coverage with competitive pricing and fast turn around," says Justin Vanderschaaf, Program Underwriter. The program provides general liability coverage to roofers and subcontractors involved with insulation work, sheet metal work, siding installation, and waterproofing.
To be eligible, roofing contractors must generate a minimum annual premium of $5,000. Applicants are asked to submit information on prior coverage and loss runs. However, FHBI will consider roofing contractors new in business providing they submit a detailed resume.
Interested roofers can call their FHBI-appointed agent or contact the local home Builders’ Association for a list of appointed agents in your area.
FHBI is the insurance arm of the Florida Home Builders Association and provides FHBA members with builders risk, general liability, workers' compensation, surety bonds, limited health plans, specialty coverages, and safety services.
For more on FHBI, visit www.fhbi.com, or call (888) 513-1222.
